Who we are

Durham Spine & Pain Institute (DSPI) was launched in 2024 and is comprised of a broad-ranging group of physicians including anaesthetists, spine surgeons, sports and emergency medicine doctors – all of whom are fully trained and qualified to perform image-guided interventional pain management procedures.

DSPI was launched with the vision of delivering the highest quality pain care in an inclusive, vibrant, and positive workplace, that will help foster healing, comfort, and regeneration within a multi-disciplinary, patient-centric model of care.

Coming at this from varied backgrounds, we offer a full spectrum of both interventional and non-interventional pain care for a wide variety of chronic pain conditions. All our physicians are either fellowship trained, and/or approved by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) to deliver a broad range of both image-guided and landmark-based interventions, as well as medical management.

All our physicians are members in good standing with the International Pain & Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS), considered the global gold standard for training in image-guided spine interventions.
